The birds are drawn to look like their real species, in imagined places.
Puffins
Clifftop Puffins shows three Atlantic puffins among sea thrift above the water. The RSPB lists the puffin among the auks, and notes that sandeels are a staple of its diet. The BTO says our puffins spend the winter at sea and arrive back at their breeding sites from March onwards.
Gannets and cormorants
Gannets Diving catches the moment gannets fold their wings and drop. The RSPB describes how they feed by circling high, then plunging into the sea. Cormorant shows the pose the RSPB says the bird is often seen in: standing with its wings held out to dry.
Gulls, oystercatchers and terns
Harbour Gull is our seagull painting, as a print: a herring gull on a weathered post. The RSPB notes the herring gull is on the Red List because of population declines. Oystercatchers shows the bird's orange-red bill on wet sand. Terns follows two birds over a pale sea, one with a small fish.

Styling seabird prints
Seabird prints sit well beside our coastal prints: they share the same greens and greys. Gannets Diving, Harbour Gull and Cormorant are tall pictures and suit a narrow wall; the rest are wider views that lose a little at each edge on a tall print. A pair of birds makes a simple arrangement in a hallway.
Sizes and frames
You can go from a small A4 up to a 70x100 cm statement poster. Natural wood frames suit the clifftop and shoreline scenes; black suits Gannets Diving. It's worth reading our guide to sizes first. The landscape pieces also come as a mug and a water bottle.
Puffin gifts
Puffin art is a good present for a birdwatcher or anyone planning a trip to a seabird colony. Our nautical gifts page has other presents for people who love the coast.
