A boat portrait starts with a photo you already have. You can print that photo exactly as it is, or see it repainted in one of three styles: watercolour, marine oil or a colour study. Either way it's printed to order and posted to you.
Start with the photo
Use the original file, straight from the phone or camera that took it. A copy sent through WhatsApp or saved from Facebook has been shrunk, and the detail it lost can't be put back. Pick a picture with the whole boat in frame, a little water and sky around the mast and bow, and a hull and rigging that still look sharp when you zoom in.
Our upload checks the file and only offers sizes it can print well. We won't print below 150 dots per inch at the finished size, so an A4 print needs a photo of at least 1,240 by 1,754 pixels, and an A3 needs 1,754 by 2,480. Most phone photos are well over that. If you want her exactly as you saw her, choose a direct photo print. Nothing is changed and no AI is used. It's the right route when the details matter: a sail number, the name on the transom, or the people on deck that day.
Three painted styles
For a custom boat painting from your photo, pick a style and AI redraws the picture in it. Nobody paints it by hand: what you get is a print of that AI picture. Watercolour gives soft sea-green washes and a light, open feel. Marine oil has thicker brushwork and deeper water.
