About this print
Three puffins stand on a clifftop among pink thrift, also called sea pinks. Their black backs, white fronts and bright orange beaks stand out against the green grass and the pale sea below. In the UK, puffins come ashore to nest on cliffs and islands in spring and summer.
It's a cheerful picture that suits a kitchen, a child's room or a hallway. Anyone who has taken a boat out to see puffins will smile at it.
The bright beaks and the pink flowers look clear and crisp as a framed poster. Canvas gives the grass more texture. 40x50 cm suits a smaller room and 50x70 cm a main wall.
Soft green, cream and white walls suit it. For a seabird set, add Gannets Diving and Terns, which share its sea colours. Puffins nest on islands such as Skomer in Wales and the Farne Islands off Northumberland, so it's a good present for someone who has visited one. Hang it at eye height so you meet the puffins' gaze. It also suits a child's room.
