About this print
A cormorant stands on a dark rock with its wings spread wide to dry. Cormorants often stand like this after diving for fish. Behind it, misty headlands fade into a pale grey sea. The bird is dark against the light background, so it's easy to see from across a room.
It's a striking, simple picture that suits a hallway, a study or a bedroom. It's a good gift for a birdwatcher, or anyone who has watched a cormorant on a harbour post or a rock.
The dark bird against the pale sea looks sharp as a framed poster. Canvas gives the rock more texture. It's tall; A3 or A2 fits a narrow space.
Grey, white and soft green walls suit it. For a seabird set, add Gannets Diving and Harbour Gull. The spread wings make a strong shape, so it looks good in a long, thin hallway where you see it from a distance. Keep the frame black or dark wood to match the bird. It also works on its own above a desk.
