About this print
A varnished wooden runabout speeds across calm water, its mahogany hull gleaming and its windscreen catching the light. A white wake trails behind it, and a wooded shore runs along the far side under a soft sky.
It has a classic, holiday feel that suits a living room, a study or a lakeside house. It's a good gift for someone who loves classic motorboats, or who has fond memories of a summer on a lake.
The rich wood of the hull looks warm on canvas. A framed canvas in dark wood matches the varnish. Choose 50x70 cm for a main wall.
Warm cream, navy and deep green walls suit it. For a pair, add Homeward Wake, another classic launch at speed, or River Launch for a slower day on the water. Runabouts like this were built in the mid-twentieth century and are still restored and shown today, so it makes a good present for a classic boat fan. Hang it at eye height so the boat feels like it's passing you.
