About this print
A classic motor launch with a varnished deck and a cream hull is heading home fast, cutting a long S-shaped wake through deep green water. Low evening light catches the crests and a rocky coastline runs along the top of the picture. The wake fills most of the frame, so the boat feels as if it has just swept past you.
It's a lively picture and it suits a living room, a study or a room with a view of the water already. It makes a good present for someone with a motorboat, or for anyone who grew up on a harbour wall watching launches come in.
There's a lot of texture in the churned water, and that looks best on canvas, where the surface has a slight weave. A framed canvas in dark wood gives it a finished, traditional look. Hang it at eye height so the wake leads your eye up through the picture.
