About this print
A two-masted schooner sails along a bright, sparkling sea. A schooner has two or more masts, and her main sails are fore-and-aft, set along the length of the boat. These are gaff sails, four-sided and held up by a wooden spar called a gaff, with three headsails at the front. Her hull is dark green and the sails are cream and weathered.
It's a sunny picture and it suits a living room, a study or a holiday house. It's a good gift for someone who sails on traditional boats or crews at classic regattas.
The glitter on the water looks bright as a framed poster or on metal. Canvas gives the sails a softer texture. At 50x70 cm it suits a main wall.
White, pale blue and sand walls suit it. If you like traditional boats, pair it with The Old Gaffer or Red Sails, both working sail from the same era. Hung together, they make a small wall of classic rigs that a sailor will enjoy naming.
