About this print
Sea mist rolls in over a cliffed coast and half swallows a small boat lying at anchor. The cliffs fade from dark green near you to almost nothing in the distance. On the east coast of England a sea mist like this is called a sea fret; in Scotland it's a haar.
It's a soft, pale, almost silent picture. It suits a bedroom, a bathroom with good airflow, or any room where you want the walls to feel calm. People from Whitby, Scarborough or the Northumberland coast often know the word straight away, which makes it a nice gift for them.
The misty whites and greys look smooth as a framed poster or on metal. Canvas gives the cliffs more texture. At 50x70 cm it suits a main wall.
Pale greys, whites and soft green walls bring out the mist. Hang it beside Shingle Shore for two calm, grey-light coast pictures, or with Rock Light if you want a lighthouse in the set. Keep the frames the same colour so the pair reads as one.
