About this print
Rock pools are left behind by the tide on a rocky shore. Barnacled stones, shells and strands of brown seaweed surround clear pools, and the sea breaks white beyond them. The paint is thick and full of colour: slate, olive, rust and pale green.
It brings back days of crabbing and rock-pooling, so it suits a family room, a child's room or a bathroom with good airflow. It fits above a bath, a bench or a sofa.
The heavy texture in the rocks looks best on canvas. A framed poster gives a cleaner, brighter look. 40x50 cm or 50x70 cm works well.
Slate, olive and stone walls suit it. For a set, add The Cove and Low Tide, which show the same coast at other times of day. It's a good present for grandparents who take the grandchildren rock-pooling every summer, as it brings back those trips. Hang it low in a child's room so they can look into the pools. It also brightens a small downstairs loo.
