Dunes

A sandy path winds through high dunes covered in marram grass, down to a strip of blue sea. The grass is painted in long, quick strokes of sage and cream, with touches of rust. The sky is pale with soft cloud.

It feels like the walk to the beach on the first day of a holiday, so it suits a hallway, a bedroom or a holiday let. It's calm and works with most colours of wall.

The texture in the grass looks great on canvas. A framed poster in natural wood keeps it light and fresh. Choose 50x70 cm so the path leads you in.

Sage, sand and white walls suit it. For a beach set, add Beach Huts and Striped Tower, which share the same grass and sand. It's a calm picture to have opposite a bed, where it's the first thing you see in the morning. Marram grass grows on dunes all round the British coast, so it suits almost any beach memory. A natural wood frame keeps the light feel.
