About this print
A thick rope is wound around a metal cleat on a pale wooden deck, with the sea glinting beyond. A cleat is the fitting a rope is tied to when you moor a boat. The rope is cream and grey, the cleat is rusty, and the deck boards are bleached by the sun.
It's a simple, close-up picture that suits a hallway, a bathroom with good airflow or a study. Give it to someone who has tied up a boat a hundred times, or who loves the feel of an old jetty underfoot.
The rope texture looks great on canvas. A framed poster in natural wood keeps it light. Being tall, it fits a narrow wall at A3 or A2.
Cream, pale grey and sea-green walls suit it. For a nautical set, add Mooring Buoys and Signal Flags, which are also close-ups of boat gear. A set like that suits a hallway or a downstairs loo. It also makes a good gift for someone who has just bought a boat, as the cleat is where every trip begins and ends.
